Important definitions: Total business revenue is estimated as average order value × total orders after ads. Actual ad-attributed revenue is entered separately and is used to calculate ROAS. ROAS measures revenue efficiency, not profit. Observed CAC is a before-and-after estimate (ad spend ÷ increase in orders), not proof that every additional order came from ads. Maximum affordable CAC equals contribution per order and is a break-even ceiling before fixed overhead; a sustainable target CAC should generally be lower. This is an estimate based on the costs entered, not a tax or accounting statement.

Ad Profitability Checker – Free Online Ad Profitability Calculator

Are your advertising campaigns actually making money? Generating sales, increasing website traffic, and achieving a high Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) may look impressive, but they don’t necessarily mean your business is profitable. Your advertising results need to be evaluated alongside product costs, delivery expenses, payment fees, operating costs, and customer acquisition costs.

The Adloopz Ad Profitability Checker is a free online ad profitability calculator that helps you understand the financial impact of your advertising. Enter your actual advertising and business figures to estimate your revenue, expenses, customer acquisition cost, ROAS, and net profit. Whether you’re running Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, Google Ads, or other paid advertising campaigns, this tool helps you look beyond sales numbers and understand what your advertising is really contributing to your business.

Actual Advertising Revenue

Find out whether your business is generating a profit after accounting for advertising expenses and the other costs you enter.

Instead of evaluating campaigns based only on sales or ROAS, the calculator considers your order-level costs and monthly business expenses.

Net Profit = Total Business Revenue − Total Business Expenses

This gives you a broader picture of your business performance during the selected reporting period.

Understand how much revenue is attributed to your advertising campaigns.

Enter the revenue reported by your advertising attribution or analytics system. This is separate from your total business revenue.

For example:

  • Total business revenue: Rs. 500,000

  • Revenue attributed to ads: Rs. 200,000

Your business generated Rs. 500,000 in total revenue, while Rs. 200,000 was attributed to advertising.

These figures should not be treated as interchangeable.

ROAS measures how much attributed revenue your advertising generates relative to your advertising spend.

ROAS = Ad-Attributed Revenue ÷ Ad Spend

Example:

  • Ad-attributed revenue: Rs. 200,000

  • Ad spend: Rs. 40,000

  • ROAS: 5×

This means your advertising generated Rs. 5 in attributed revenue for every Rs. 1 spent.

However, a 5× ROAS does not automatically mean your campaign is profitable. Your product costs, fulfillment, fees, and operating expenses still matter.

Customer Acquisition Cost tells you how much you spend to acquire an additional customer.

The calculator estimates observed CAC using the change in orders before and after advertising.

Observed CAC = Ad Spend ÷ Incremental Orders

Example:

  • Orders before advertising: 50

  • Orders after advertising: 80

  • Incremental orders: 30

  • Ad spend: Rs. 15,000

  • Observed CAC: Rs. 500

This is a before-and-after estimate, not proof that advertising caused every additional order.

How much can you afford to spend to acquire a customer without exhausting the contribution generated by an order?

Your maximum affordable CAC is based on your contribution per order.

Maximum Affordable CAC = Average Order Value − Variable Cost Per Order

Example:

  • Average order value: Rs. 3,000

  • Variable costs per order: Rs. 1,200

  • Maximum affordable CAC: Rs. 1,800

This is a break-even ceiling before fixed overhead expenses. Your actual target CAC should generally be lower if you want to leave room for operating costs and profit.

One of the most important parts of advertising analysis is understanding the difference between total business revenue and revenue attributed to ads.

Total Business Revenue represents revenue from all orders during the reporting period.

Ad-Attributed Revenue represents the revenue your advertising platform or attribution system credits to your ads.

The two figures can differ because your business also receives orders from organic search, direct traffic, returning customers, referrals, and other channels.

The calculator displays these figures separately to help prevent misleading conclusions.

Revenue is not the same as profit.

After accounting for your variable costs, monthly operating expenses, other marketing expenses, and advertising spend, the calculator estimates your net profit.

Net Profit Margin = (Net Profit ÷ Total Business Revenue) × 100

This helps you understand how much of your business revenue remains as profit after the expenses included in the calculation.

We Got Some answers

FAQ's

  • What is an Ad Profitability Checker?

An Ad Profitability Checker is a tool that helps businesses estimate whether their advertising activity is generating a profit after accounting for advertising spend, product costs, fulfillment expenses, and other business costs.

The Adloopz Ad Profitability Checker combines advertising metrics and business expenses to provide a broader view of profitability.

  • Is the Ad Profitability Checker free to use?

Yes. The Adloopz Ad Profitability Checker is free to use. You can enter your advertising and business figures, calculate key profitability metrics, and generate a PDF report.

  • How do I calculate advertising profitability?

To estimate advertising profitability, compare the revenue generated by your business with all relevant expenses, including product costs, delivery, operating expenses, marketing costs, and advertising spend.

Net Profit = Total Business Revenue − Total Business Expenses

For a more complete analysis, also review ROAS, CAC, contribution per order, and net profit margin.

  • What is the difference between ROAS and ad profitability?

ROAS measures the revenue attributed to advertising divided by advertising spend. Ad profitability considers the wider costs involved in generating sales.

A campaign can have a high ROAS but still contribute to a business loss if its product and operating costs are too high.

  • How do I calculate ROAS?

Divide the revenue attributed to your ads by the amount spent on advertising.

    ROAS = Ad-Attributed Revenue ÷ Ad Spend

For example, Rs. 100,000 in ad-attributed revenue from Rs. 20,000 in ad spend produces a 5× ROAS.

  • What is a good ROAS for advertising?

There is no single ROAS target that works for every business. Your required ROAS depends on product margins, fulfillment costs, payment fees, operating expenses, and your desired profit.

A business with higher variable costs generally needs a higher ROAS to reach profitability.

  • What is Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)?

Customer Acquisition Cost is the cost of acquiring a customer. A simple advertising-based CAC calculation divides advertising spend by the number of customers acquired.

In this calculator, observed CAC is estimated using the difference between orders before and after advertising. This comparison should be treated as an estimate rather than definitive attribution.

  • What is maximum affordable CAC?

Maximum affordable CAC is the break-even acquisition cost based on the contribution generated by an order.

Maximum Affordable CAC = Average Order Value − Variable Cost Per Order

It represents the contribution available before fixed overhead expenses. A lower target CAC is generally needed to generate profit.

  • Can I check whether my Facebook Ads are profitable?

Yes. You can use the calculator to evaluate Facebook and Instagram advertising by entering your ad spend, actual ad-attributed revenue, order numbers, and business expenses.

  • Can I use this calculator for Google Ads?

Yes. The calculator can be used for Google Ads and other paid advertising channels. Enter the relevant advertising spend and attributed revenue for the reporting period you want to analyze.

  • Why is my ROAS high but my profit low?

Your business may have high product costs, expensive delivery, payment fees, high acquisition costs, agency fees, or other operating expenses.

ROAS only compares attributed revenue with ad spend. It does not deduct all your business expenses.

  • What is the difference between total revenue and ad-attributed revenue?

Total business revenue includes revenue from all orders during a reporting period. Ad-attributed revenue is the portion credited to advertising by your attribution or analytics system.

Revenue from organic traffic, referrals, direct visits, and returning customers may be included in total business revenue without being attributed to ads.

  • What expenses should I include in an ad profitability calculation?

Include product costs, delivery, packaging, payment processing, platform fees, returns, salaries, software, website costs, rent, agency fees, and other relevant marketing expenses.

Enter advertising platform spend separately to avoid double counting.

  • Can I calculate my net profit after advertising costs?

Yes. Enter your total business revenue and all relevant expenses, including advertising spend. The calculator estimates net profit after deducting the expenses included in your inputs.

  • What is incremental profit after advertising?

Incremental profit after advertising estimates the additional contribution remaining after subtracting advertising spend from the contribution generated by additional orders.

Incremental Profit After Ads = (Incremental Orders × Contribution Per Order) − Ad Spend

It uses a before-and-after order comparison, which does not independently prove that advertising caused the increase.

  • Can I download my ad profitability report?

Yes. The Adloopz Ad Profitability Checker includes a PDF report feature. You can generate a report containing your entered figures and calculated results for review or sharing.

  • Does the calculator save my advertising data?

The calculator is designed to perform its calculations in your browser. Its PDF report is also generated in the browser. It does not require you to submit your advertising figures to Adloopz to calculate results.

  • Which currencies are supported?

The calculator supports PKR, USD, CAD, GBP, EUR, AUD, and INR.

  • How often should I check my advertising profitability?

Review your advertising profitability regularly, ideally monthly or after a meaningful campaign or pricing change. Use consistent reporting periods and attribution methods when comparing performance.

  • Are the results from the Ad Profitability Checker guaranteed to match my actual accounting profit?

No. Results are estimates based on the figures you enter. Actual accounting profit may differ because of taxes, inventory adjustments, financing costs, depreciation, payment timing, refunds, and other accounting factors. Use your accounting records for official financial reporting.
